We are immensely proud of our historic association with the Mount C of E Primary School. The school and St Mary Magdalene church have been linked for over 100 years – if you look in our coffee area you’ll see a plaque to Marshall Wild a curate of the church who set up a ‘friends of the Mount School’ in 1910 in order to support the school financially.
There are a number of our congregation at St Mary’s who speak warmly of their time at the Mount School, some who attended over 60 years ago, and some who have just left to go to secondary school!
We love being connected with the school and going in occasionally to support with Worship. We also love it when the children from the school come for services in the church. They bring such enthusiasm and honesty in their worship. We also love that some of the pre-school children whose brothers and sisters go to the Mount, come to our PLAY group- currently suspended due to covid.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone associated with the Mount school to our church – this is your church as well. We fully support the wonderful work that Mrs Kent and all of the staff at the Mount C of E Primary School do.
