Children & Youth Volunteers

KIDS team

This incorporates Sundays KIDS groups and Beacon after school church

On Sundays, we aim to provide the best hour of every child’s week and are looking for volunteers with a heart to see children encounter Jesus! These groups are for children from birth to 11 years old at both the 9.15am and 11.00am services at both St Mary Magdalene and St Leonard .

To join the team, we look for 2 references and a DBS check and full safeguarding training will be provided as part of the process.

Beacon after school church meets at Charles Street Methodist Church monthly on Thursdays.

Little Roars Team

Here at St Mary Magdalene with St Leonard, we are passionate about children receiving an excellent music education.

Children from as young as 3 months old are able to access these fun, friendly sessions.

Our vision for Little Roars is to create a safe, welcoming and fun space for families of under 5s. We want to help them to build genuine friendship and community that extends far beyond a Friday morning, and for the kids to find joy and laughter through play, songs and story time. If you’re passionate about welcoming families, building community and creating a fun and safe atmosphere, Little Roars would love to hear from you. Youth team

We have an incredible opportunity to share the hope + love of Jesus with the youth in our town. Our weekly Thursday youth groups are always in need of folks happy to cater, welcome + assist with running sessions. Come and be a part of helping our amazing young people to thrive.

Note 2 x references will be requested, DBS + full safeguarding training will be provided as part of the process.

Choir Chaperones

Our chaperone team help to supervise our choristers, mainly in their Wednesday and Friday rehearsals. As well as their safeguarding role, they often offer pastoral support. You don’t need to be a musician to do this, but you will gain a fascinating insight into how we prepare for our choral services.

To join the team, we look for 2 references and a DBS check; you will be asked to undertake some basic safeguarding training.
