Accessibility
The majority of the church is accessible by wheelchair, mobility scooter and pram. Please see below for more information about access to specific areas.
St Mary’s

St Mary's is located in the centre of Newark. Newark is serviced by two train stations: Newark Northgate and Newark Castle, both of which are a 15 minute walk away from the church.
There are several car parks in Newark, the locations of which can be found here. Please note there is no car park at St Mary's.

The West entrance to St Mary's is flat and wheelchair accessible. Access is through a large wooden door (kept open during opening hours) and a glass panelled door. There is no entrance fee for access to St Mary's.

The south entrance to the church is flat and accessible. Access is through a glass double door, and then a wooden door, which can be opened wider to accommodate visitors.

Service dogs and well-behaved dogs are allowed on a lead.

There are unisex accessible toilets in the North transept of the church

Much of St Mary's is wheelchair accessible and ramps are fitted to access the east end of the church and the chancel.

Access to the crypt is by a steep set of 13 steps.

The tower is accessible by guided tour only, and can be pre-booked here. There is a steep spiral flight of stairs to reach the parapet, which is narrow and has low lighting.
St Leonard’s

St Leonard's is located on Lincoln Road, a 15 minute walk from Newark Northgate station, a 25 minute walk from Newark Castle station or a short drive from the centre of Newark.
There is a car park at St Leonard's which has ample parking. -
