Chris Miggells: The Candlelight Piano Experience

Chris Miggells brings you into an entirely new dimension of live performance with The Piano Experience™. The nationally acclaimed composer and pianist creates his concerts in some of the UK’s most unique and unexpected venues.

Chris Miggells is a British composer, pianist, and synesthete whose work explores the intersection of sound, emotion, and natural phenomena. Known for his atmospheric style and cinematic flair, Miggells has rapidly established a reputation in the modern classical space, with live performances that push the boundaries of traditional concert experiences.

As featured on BBC, ITV and described by Notts TV as “the Banksy of the piano world,” Miggells is best known for his album Synesthese, featuring the iconic tracks Stone Giant, Flight of the Phoenix, and Aurora. These compositions are inspired by elemental forces and transformed through his experience of synesthesia. His live show, The Piano Experience™, has sold out in extraordinary venues including the Sherwood Observatory Planetarium (three sold out shows), Clipstone Headstocks (three consecutive nights), and Southwell Minster Cathedral’s State Chamber (sold out). Due to overwhelming demand and the success of recent performances, an extended UK tour of The Piano Experience™ is in development for late 2025, with future plans to further expand in 2026.

In addition to composing and performing his own works, Miggells independently produces all recordings in his studio and frequently collaborates with historic sites, visual artists and scientific institutions to create immersive, multidisciplinary events. With a growing catalogue and a fiercely individual vision, he is fast becoming one of the UK’s most distinctive figures in live instrumental music.

An Introduction to Historic Graffiti with Dr James Wright

The Hidden Story of the Hopes, Fears and Desires of a Nation

Modern graffiti is often seen as transgressive and moronic. However, look closely in the light of a torch at the walls of our historic buildings, trees, caves and rockfaces and you will see a world of graffiti left that illuminates the psychology of our ancestors.

The study of historic graffiti enables us to hear the lost voices of ordinary individuals through their images of daisywheels, ships sailing across the walls, knights drawing their swords, demons stalking the stonework and every animal imaginable….
